After an hour long boat trip from Porto Santo Stefano you arrive at Giglio Porto, a classic seaside village developed  along the port's edge and caracterized by the soft warm colors of the houses, which standout from a distance.

Driving upward for 6km along the winding panoramic road you arrive at Giglio Castello. This ancient village, with it's imposing Rocca Pisana, is enclosed within medieval walls and inside you find a network of tiny streets barely wide
enough to allow a donkey with his packsaddle to pass. Life's rhythms are tied to the seasons and the atmosphere is one of another time.
